Visiting Oslo

Oslo is often underestimated as a travel destination. Mostly due to the high costs of everything here. Although there is no doubts that the prices in Oslo is among the highest in the world, it is possible to stretch your pocket money if you really want to do it though.

Oslo have a few sights worth seeing, and if you do travel on a budget, maybe it would be worth the trouble of choosing slightly lower quality on your accomodation than you are used to, and maybe even go for the inexpensive street food. After all you could get a kebab for less than 30kr. It may not be a nice dinner, but they do taste quite nice and will fill your belly. Another tip would be to buy food in the supermarkets and make your own sandwiches. That would also save you a bundle.

Getting around and speaking with the locals is a breeze. Most people do speak good english and they are a lot friendlier and helpful than what you first would expect. It is true that Norwegians are reserved and shy, but if you take the first step in establishing contact with them, you will find that they are helpful, polite and just a friendly bunch of people.

This website intend to show you some of what Oslo have to offer, and hopefully you will find it interesting enough to decide to visit us sometimes.
