This open air museum contains 155 authentic buildings from different parts of Norway. There are all kinds of different buildings from farmhouses to churches and even city housing. Among the more famous buildings is Gol Stave Church, from the 13th century.

During summer they arrange different activities like guided tours, folk music and dancing, demonstration of traditional arts and crafts as well as cooking.

The opening hours are from 1100 to 1500 from September 15 to May 14 and 1000 to 1800 from May 15 to September 14.

GETTING THERE

 You can take the bus 30 from the city center out to the museum. There is also the obtion of a ferry leaving from the harbor outside City Hall. This only runs in the summertime however, and there would be a 10 minutes walk from the port of arrival to the museum.
