BY AIR

There are several flights going to Oslo Airport Gardermoen, Rygge Airport and Sandefjord Airport. Oslo Airport may be the closest but even that airport is outside the city. The too other airports have some low cost carriers as well and since you would have to arrange transportation no matter which airport you choose, the cheaper airlines may be the better choice.

Travelling from the airport to Oslo there are several obtions. From Oslo Airport Gardermoen there is a fast train taking only 19 minutes.

If you want to use taxi, remember to choose your taxi company wisely, since different companies charge different fixed prices. The difference may be quite big, so there is a possibility to save a lot of money choosing correctly.

Buses are available from all airport and are rather inexpensive.

BY BUS

There are several busliners going between the cities of Norway and also from Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark. The buses are fairly inexpensive compared to other means of transportation and makes a nice alternative if travelling on a budget.

BY TRAIN

The trainstation is located in the middle of Oslo and brings you close to the city center.

Then again coming in from Europe, the choices are fairly limited compared to flying and the price may be more costly as well, unless you explore Europe on an interrail ticket that is.

There are trains coming in from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen.

BY FERRY

There are ferry connections between Hirtshals, Fredrikshavn and Copenhagen in Denmark and Kiel in Germany.

It may not be the fastest or cheapes way of entering Norway, but while travelling you can dance the night away in the nightclub or enjoy other activities in the ferries, making it the far most enjoy-able way of arriving Oslo. In nice weather one can enjoy the beautiful sights of the Oslofjord on the sun deck of the ferry.

You can of course also bring your car or motorcycle on most of the ferries.
